Redland Community Association

Thursday, March 11th, 2010 The RCA meets at 9:00 a.m. on the second Saturday of each month (except December) at Mulder Memorial United Methodist Church, 3454 Firetower Road. **This month we will meet on the 2nd Thursday at 6:30 p.m.**

The purpose of the RCA is to preserve the way of life in Redland, keep the residents informed about issues that affect them, and then be a spokesman when necessary. The RCA is open to all residents of the Redland area which encompasses everything from Redland Road at US 231 to Chubbahatchee Creek, and Highway 14 to Rifle Range Road. Redland is the fastest growing area in Elmore County. The Task Force and our other committees give updates at each meeting and we usually have an interesting speaker. Please come join us, have a cup of coffee and a snack, and meet some wonderful “Redlanders.”

2nd Annual RES Fun Run and 5K Race

Saturday, March 27th, 2010 5K Race- 9:00 a.m. 1 Mile Fun Run 10:00 a.m. Course: The RES Fun Run & 5K is organized by the Redland Elementary School PTO. The races will begin at RES and will go through the Brookwood neighborhood in Wetumpka. There are some hills on this course.

Info & Packets: Available at 8:00 a.m. on race day and include t-shirt and race number. Breakfast will also be available at 8:00 a.m. Benefit: Proceeds from this event go towards funding Redland Elementary PTO projects that benefit the children and teachers of RES. Price: $25.00 for adults (t-shirt, breakfast & run) $15.00 for kids (t-shirt, breakfast & run) $15.00 for adults (run only) $5.00 for kids (run only) $3.00 breakfast only. Emerald Mountain Volunteer Fire Department Annual Easter BBQ

Saturday, April 3rd, 2010 Pickup 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Fire Station

Emerald Mountain Volunteer Fire Department is going to do their Easter weekend Barbeque sale again on Saturday, April 3, 2010. As always we will sell the Boston Butts for $25 and plates for $6.00. We plan to sell barbeque pork plates as well as ½ chicken plates. In addition to the meat, the plates will include baked beans, potato salad and a slice of bread. Delicious cakes will also be available whole or by the slice. We may cook some butts on Thursday and, if so, some butts will be available late Thursday afternoon, otherwise pickup times are between 10 AM and 1 PM on Saturday.
